Sailfish Splash Waterpark fulfills the dreams of the community in Martin County, Florida
In their first year, Sailfish Splash Waterpark sold more than 13,000 season passes, generating $400,000 in net revenue. The facility has contributed more than $10,000,000 in economic impact within the community since its inception by hosting more than 40 swim meets annually including two of Florida’s largest. The recreational side of the waterpark generates enough total revenue to pay for the state-of-the-art 50 meter competitive facility. Martin County is very proud that the waterpark and pool have not used any tax dollars to date.
As it is in many places throughout the US, an aquatic complex was identified as a top priority for Martin County and its residents. An aquatic facility comes with many beneficial factors and can reach a wide range of demographics creating opportunities for fitness and recreation as well as competitive swimming and diving within the community. Not only did this project create 75 jobs during construction and 130 seasonal jobs once completed, but it is now an integral part of the county’s character.
